About BitCode
A senior team
that actually
ships things.
We're a small group of engineers and designers who've been building software together since 2019. We work with founders and teams in four countries, and our favourite project is the one that's still live five years after we ship it.
We started BitCode because the work we wanted to do didn't exist at the agencies we were at.
The big shops were happy to bill hours and ship something. The small ones were happy to wing it and hope nobody noticed. We wanted somewhere in between: senior people, real engineering practices, and the kind of relationship where the client's success is also the team's.
Five years in, we've shipped 50+ projects across e-commerce, travel, retail and enterprise web. Most of our clients are still using what we built. Many of them call us back.
We work on a small number of projects at a time on purpose — it's how we keep the work good. If we say yes to your engagement, you have our attention.
The opposite of the agency model.
No senior pitch followed by a junior delivery. The people you meet in the kick-off are the people writing your code, sitting in your standups and answering your Slack messages. There's no account manager translating between you and the work.
We size projects honestly. If your idea isn't worth building, we'll tell you and save you the budget. If it's bigger than you think, we'll tell you that too. We'd rather lose a deal than ship a half-built product with our name on it.
What we believe
Four principles we don't break.
Senior throughout
You don't get a junior bench. The engineers in your kick-off are the engineers writing your code. Every line.
Honest scoping
If something isn't worth building, we'll tell you. If it's bigger than you think, we'll tell you that too. Better to lose a deal than ship half a product.
Boringly reliable
We use tools we know well so launch day is uneventful — by design. Excitement is for the product, not the deploy.
Yours after launch
We stay on for maintenance and improvements when you want us to. Most clients do. The next iteration goes faster every time.
Small batches
We take on a small number of projects at a time on purpose. It's how we keep the work good. If we say yes, you have our attention.
Direct communication
No account managers. No email-only updates. You're in the same channels as the team, and you hear from real engineers, not handlers.
